Blue Orleans Seafood Restaurant is proud to be one of Chattanooga's top 10 restaurants, serving the best traditional and contemporary Creole and Cajun dishes. Owner and Executive Chef Mike Adams brings the authentic flavors and spices of New Orleans to the scenic city.
My love for food started as a young boy watching my grandmother, mother and aunt tossing in the freshest ingredients, spices, meats and seafood into a large gumbo pot or making a Creole roux from scratch in a cast iron skillet. But even with all of this God-gifted talent swirling around me, my late father John Quincy "Q" Adams was our family's master chef. My personal goals are to share our cuisine and see a Blue Orleans everywhere!
Chef Mike and his family evacuated to Chattanooga to avoid the oncoming destruction of Hurricane Katrina. As proprietors of New Orleans cuisine, their food distribution company, (Mo’ Gumbo, sold prepackaged, pint-size containers of New Orleans most popular dishes from the Creole Kitchen, located inside of New Orleans International Airport) with all of its food equipment, newly purchased home, personal items and belongings and catering business were completely destroyed.
In 2006, Blue Orleans opened its doors and today it continues to attract thousands of locals and tourists each year with their tasty Creole and Cajun dishes inspired by second and third generation family recipes from the Sindos, Adams, Sansone, Paw Paw Clyde, Bloodwirth and Daste's kitchens and teacher and friend Chef Robert Irvin, Restaurant Impossible.
Chattanooga's Southside is flourishing with a wide variety of restaurants designed to please any discerning palate, along with a host of small businesses, galleries, entertainment and nightlight venues. Spanning the area between 12th and 20th streets, this unique district is anchored by the historic Choo Choo Hotel. In October of 2007, the Southside became the home of Blue Orleans, an urban area teeming with art, shopping, music, tours and diverse culinary experiences that are unlike anything else in the beautiful scenic city.
